MAD Wurks A800R/RR - 40mm Fan Mount Pro (CF Slider) (1)
Choice of Champions... Eric Anderson and Michael Skeen TQ and went 1 and 2 on the podium at NYGP 2026. We ran the MAD Wurks Max Effort fan shroud setup along with the Hobbywing G5 21.5 non epoxy motor to take he TQ and win. While the masses said don't bother running a non epoxy motor till January 1, we went to work to create a setup to maximize efficiency and realize the potential of the new G5 platform. Optimization, preparation, and testing won out. You MAD Bro?
The MAD Wurks Pro fan mount offers the same easy in and out and slide adjustability with 1 screw and a carbon slider bracket. Testing showed similar results to the Max Effort version you just use the granular ability to adjust the sides independently. This product is the result of months worth of testing and tuning to optimize airflow and cooling for non epoxy motors. When looking at lowering temps and improving efficiency it is more than just pushing more air with a booster and a large 40mm fan. Managing back pressure, optimal distance from the motor, and directing air to where you need it all plays a part in the final product. We also worked to reduce weight, simplify, and increase ease of use. Want more room to work or clean the fan or car, simple removal and attachment with 1 screw.
Of the new designs, the Hobbywing G5 lets in the most air, but the position isn't always optimal in a touring car to take advantage of the larger openings. We've modified this fan shroud to optimize it for the position most racers use with the motor wire tabs tilted backwards at an angle towards the esc. The angle on the top directs airflow into the top vents of all brand motors in addition to the direct inline openings.

Includes:
- (1) 3d print fan shroud
- (1) Carbon fiber slider
- (3) M2.5x6mm screw to hold the inner side plate and carbon slider to the shroud and motor plate
Features:
- Sliding shroud to quickly adjust distance from the motor on gear or motor changes
- Ability to quickly adjust weight bias front to rear with a gear change
- Airflow optimization direct inline and into top vents on the motor
- Lightweight design to minimize impact to handling
- Quick removal for ease of access to the motor side of your car with 1 screw removal
- 0 chassis flex impact design
- Weight (8g) with steel mounting screws (does not include fan mounting screws that you provide)
Recommendations:
- We found for most conditions the fan should be approximately 15-16mm from the closest part of motor
- We have already adjusted the distance on the shroud to within 1mm of where it should be, but adjust to suit your needs, but it should be close to the motor
- Choose a solid quality 40mm fan (plastic for reduced weight) such as:
- Takishima TD13 40mm Fan (This is the lightest fan tested that pushes a lot of air also it is quiet)
- WTF 40mm NE40 (a few grams heavier, but it noisier)
- MXLR 40mm fan MAX-13-006 (a few grams heavier, slightly more noisy and TD13, but pushes the most air per EA)
- Run a fan booster such as the MXLR MAX-13-001 (available at Team EAM)
- If max weight reduction is desired, consider titanium screws from Sortafast. The 2 3mm fan mount screws alone will save you the most, but they offer titanium for even the small screws for the sides in m2.5.
